Saraswati Music College was established in 1924 at Lahore by it's founder Principal, Late Shri Bansilal Kapoor, disciple of the veteran musician, Late Pandit Maniram ji of Mewati Gharana. The institution moved to Delhi after partition The institution is one of the oldest and among the most reputed ones in the field.It is run by a registered Society, a non-profit earning body. It has been providing training in Hindustani and Western Music, Indian Dances, Arts and Crafts.It is affiliated to Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and conducts examinations upto MA(Music)

Under the aegis of Shri Balram Saini, who took the mantle from the founder, the institution has grown and evolved both in size and scope of activities

Under his vision, not only did the institute organize a number of cultural and star-studded events around the world, but also expanded its operations with a new building with modern facilities and brought forth international fame to Indian music

Events

Saraswati Foundation for Education, Art and Culture has been involved in imparting education in Music and Dance for several years. All students are given an opportunity to showcase their talent at the cultural events conducted by the institute in India and around the world. In keeping with it's tradition of advancing art and culture, the foundation has opened an art gallery to promote upcoming artists in the field of Fine Arts. The institute also frequently organizes concerts in which renowned artists from all over the country are invited to perform.

The institute also runs its own Audio & Video Studios equipped with latest digital instruments and recording machines, to promote its students and young talents.

Events Organized By The Institute

  • Organized a cultural evening with Pt.Maniram Ji and Pt.Jasraj Ji, in New Delhi in the year 1976.
  • Organized a cultural Eve. With Sulakshna Pandit etc, in Talkatora Gardens, New Delhi in the year 1977 and again in 1979
  • Organized the first ever grand show of Music Director Bappi Lahiri, with several other singers and actors like, Sachin, Sarika, Amrita Singh, Sanjay Khan etc, in Delhi at Talkatora Stadium in 1978.
  • Organized "Tabassum Hit Parade" with First ever grand public performance of Singer Anuradha Paudwal and Bela etc. at Ashoka Hotel Convention Hall, New Delhi, in the year 1980.
  • Organized "Tabassum Hit Parade" with Music Director Ravindra Jain, with first ever grand public performance of singer Kavita Krishnamurthy, and many other singers and actors etc. at New Delhi in the year 1981
  • Organized "Kishore Kumar Night" , compared by Tabassum and Ameen Siyani, again with first ever grand live performance by singer Alka Yagnik, at Rabindra Ragshala, New Delhi in 1982.
  • Organized "Geeton Bhari Shaam" with Actress and singer - Salma Aagah, Mahendra Kapoor and Hem Lata etc, compared By Actor Dilip Kumar, Saira Bano, Vinod Mehra, Jagdeep etc, At Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, in the year 1983.
  • Organized the "Boney M" Show in the Jawahar Lal Stadium, New Delhi, in 1984, this was one of the very first show of any western band in India.
  • Organized a series of live shows by the name of "Shabb-e-bahar" , in various countries of Europe, in the year 1984. Including several established artists like, Dilip Kumar, Mehmood, Helen, Mukree, Manhar Udhas etc and several up coming artists like Bamkin Pathak, etc.
  • Organized "Kishore Kumar Night" with Sudesh Bhonsle as one of the musicians and mimicry artist and several other singers and actor/actresses, in the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi in the year 1985.
  • Organized "Kishore Kumar Night" by the name of "Race Against Time". This show was organized by the institute in Aid of Drought relief for Africa and was telecast Live in the whole World. Several sportsperson including runner P.T.Usha came running with a burning Torch in the stadium during the show to support the cause. It was organized in the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, in the year 1986.
  • Organized series of shows in several countries of Europe once again in the years 1989, 90, 91 and 92. These included Shabbir Kumar and several upcoming artists like Vandana Vajpai, Babla Mehta, Vipin Sachdeva etc.
  • Organized Live show of all the Artists of the great T.V. Serial -"Mahabharat" by B.R.Chopra, at the I.G. Indoor Stadium in the year 1991. The then President of India Shri.Giani Zail Sing Ji, was the guest of honor in the show.
  • Organized "Geeton Bhari Shaam" By music Directors "Jatin - Lalit". With Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Bali Bhrambhat, Subhash Ghai, Manisha Koirala, Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Kumar etc. at the I.G.Stadium, New Delhi, in the year 1997.
  • Organized performance of Sonal ManSingh's Dance Troupe at Saraswati Music College's premises in the year 2001.
  • Organized "Ghulam Ali Night" at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, in the year 2003.
